Before you think about listening to what I have to say about theology, the Bible, and who God is. Here is a summarization of my beliefs.
The best place to start with my beliefs is with the Apostles Creed and the Nicene Creed. Both of these creeds are affirmed in both Protestant and Catholic churches. Both are foundational to my faith and what I believe.

statement of beliefs

God

I believe in one true God, the God of the Bible, who is the Creator of all things and exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, always good, and full of both love and justice. Though God is one, He exists in three distinct and equal Persons—each fully God—known as the Holy Trinity. I believe that God created the universe by His divine command and sovereign will, and that, out of His great love, He sent Christ into the world to save sinners.

The Bible

I believe that the Bible is the Holy Word of God, divinely and supernaturally inspired, and without error, contradiction, or flaw in its original manuscripts. God spoke through the human authors of both the Old and New Testaments, preserving His Word through verbal, plenary inspiration. As such, the Scriptures are the divinely authoritative and timeless standard for all people and all generations. I believe the Bible is to be believed in all it teaches, obeyed in all it commands, and trusted in all it promises.

Jesus Christ

I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God—fully God and fully man—and the second Person of the Trinity. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and died on the cross as the penalty for my sins. On the third day, He rose bodily from the dead, securing victory over sin and death. He ascended to the right hand of the Father, where He now intercedes for believers and serves as the head of the Church. I believe that He will one day return personally, bodily, and visibly to the earth to reign as judge and king.

Salvation

I believe that all people, including myself, are sinners and fall short of the glory of God. Because of my sin, I deserve separation from God, but in His great mercy and love, God provided a way for me to be saved. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross as a perfect sacrifice for my sins, and He rose again on the third day. I believe that salvation comes only through Jesus, by believing in Him, confessing my sins, repenting, and surrendering my life to Him as Lord. This salvation is not earned by good works, church membership, or human effort, but is entirely a gift of God’s grace.

The Church

I believe that a New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ is an independent local congregation of baptized believers who are united by a shared faith and commitment to the gospel. Together, we seek to live according to God's Word, using the gifts, rights, and privileges He has given us to spread the good news to all people. Under the Lordship of Christ, each congregation governs itself, and every member, including me, is personally accountable to Jesus as Lord. I believe that the church has two scriptural offices—pastors and deacons—and that the Holy Spirit gives both men and women gifts for service. The office of pastor is reserved for those who meet the qualifications found in Scripture. I also believe that the Church, in its broader sense, is the Body of Christ made up of all believers across time, cultures, and nations. As a Christian, I am called to grow in spiritual maturity through the knowledge and obedience of God's Word and submission to the Holy Spirit, who lives within me. I believe that active involvement in a local church is essential for my spiritual growth and for making a meaningful impact in the world.

This Statement of Beliefs does not exhaust the extent of my beliefs. The Bible, as the inspired and infallible Word of God, serves as the final authority and source of what I believe concerning truth, morality and proper conduct.
